Downtown Los Angeles Grand Avenue Mixed Use

1120 South Grand is a new mixed-use community in the South Park District of downtown Los Angeles. The program includes an amenity deck with a large pool, barbecue areas, lounge areas with fire pits, TV areas, barbecue areas, outdoor recreation and rooftop community spaces. The inspiration for the design builds upon the contemporary expression of the architecture and geometric art abstraction to develop a unique identity. The 7th floor pool is the central feature of the space with a water curtain terminating the view. The exposed areas of the landscape are defined by low water, colorful and bio-diverse succulent plantings and desert trees with rich textures.

Tim Anderson, Herb Kindsfater and Suzanne Serna, oversaw, designed and developed implementation drawings while at AECOM.
